Run, hike or crawl the McDowell Sonoran Preserve on a grueling 26 mile route with over 5,000' of elevation gain. This is a Fat Ass style event with NO course markings and limited Aid. To navigate, participants will rely on a GPX map and their inner Magellan.

AID
There will be water, electrolytes and a few snacks at Adero Canyon and Gateway Trailheads.
Water fountains available at Sunrise, Adero Canyon and Gateway; restrooms at both Adero Canyon and Gateway.
Plan to carry all other water and nutrition needs. Due to the distance and remoteness between trailheads, it is recommended that you run with at least 2 liters FULL of water. Crews are welcome to access any of the trailheads for support and heckling.
WARNING: This event is in the Fat Ass tradition. YOU are responsible for your own health, safety and finish line feels.
TIMING
Participants will self-time their run using a watch or phone with GPS tracking.
RESULTS
Finishing times will be submitted to the RD and posted on the Strava Club Page.
FINISH LINE
Bring your own after-race snacks and drinks as you cheer other runners in. Then meet us at a local bar (TBD) to celebrate.

High-fives for all Finishers.
Course
Starting and ending at Lost Dog Wash Trailhead in Scottsdale, the course will take you through the McDowell Sonoran Preserve, passing through Sunrise TH, Adero Canyon TH and Gateway TH. The trails are a mix of smooth, rocky and technical single-track. There is little shade and several rugged climbs, so prepare accordingly.

Piestewa Peak
8 mile run
Take on iconic Piestewa Peak in the Phoenix Mountain Preserve on this 8 Mile course to the summit and back. Runners should be prepared for high summer temps with no Aid and few course markings along the route. This event is FREE and limited to 60 participants.

Course
The course begins and ends just north of the Hope Bible Church, at the bottom of the 51 Freeway footbridge. Runners will cross west to east over the Freeway onto the Dreamy Draw Bikeway, following it south through Dreamy Draw Trailhead to Piestewa Peak via via the 1A (Perl Charles Memorial Trail) and 302 (Freedom Trail), where they will summit, and then return to the finish over the same route.
The trails are rocky with some technical sections. There is minimal shade so wear appropriate clothing and carry enough hydration.

A tour of the Phoenix Mountains Preserve, this challenging 50k course will take you up iconic Piesetewa Peak and Shaw Butte and along Sonoran Desert singletrack in the heart of Phoenix, AZ. Be prepared for 6,000' of elevation gain and some serious PHOMO for all who miss out.

The course will take you through scenic Phoenix Mountains Preserve, starting and ending at the Cholla Ramada, Piestewa Peak Park. The trails are a mix of rocky and smooth singletrack, with some technical terrain. Expect minimal shade, so be prepared if the weather is warm, which it likely will be. Sorry.
WATER
Water fountains available at Miles: 4.5, 7.5, 9.9, 15.2, 21, 26.2, and 30.75. Full Aid at Miles: 9.9 and 26.2.
NAVIGATION
The course will NOT be marked. Participants will rely on GPX coordinates available for upload to their watch or smartphone.

PUp-a-go 5k
Our 1st annual Pup-A-Go 5k will be held at Papago Park in Phoenix, AZ! Hikers and runners are welcome to loop through the scenic 5k course with their furry friends or go solo. A portion of the registration fee will be donated to Home Fur Good, a No-Kill animal rescue in Phoenix.

An Aid Station located at the start and finish will be stocked with cold water, Gatorade mix, snacks and bananas. (And a few treats for your pups.) Plan to carry all other water and nutrition needs for you and your dog as there will be no other Aid Stations on the course.
DOG SAFETY
Please make sure your dog is vaccinated and up-to-date with their shots. And they must be leashed at all times throughout the event. Doggie waste bags will be provided at the start, so please make sure to pick up after your furry friend.

Home Fur Good will have a booth where you can learn more about their shelter and inquire about adoptions. Make sure to stop by!
Parking
Parking for this event will be across the street from the start area at 625 N Galvin Pkwy, Phoenix, AZ, which is only a short 5 minute walk to the start.
RULES
Please be respectful of other participants and their dogs. Make sure to pick up after your dog, keep them leashed at all times, and ensure they are getting enough water and pats out there on the course.
Course
Hikers and runners will complete one counter-clockwise loop around Papago Park before finishing where the race begins. The course is 100 % dirt trails. Course will be well-marked at critical junctions, but the bloodhounds out there will know the way.

BRING:
Escape the heat this 4th of July and get up to Mt. Ord with GhostHead Productions. Casual, fun-run pace up to the summit via the shorter Jeep road. (Unless you are looking to snag Scott Traer’s CR, then please feel free to set off your own fireworks.)
GhostHead will provide ice cold water at the end of the run. Make sure to bring enough water and nutrition as it does tend to get warm, especially on the way down. Bring a camp chair and hangout after the run before heading back to the heat in Phoenix.
Parking is limited at the trailhead, so plan to meet at the Fry’s off of the 101 (90th and Shea) at 5:00AM to carpool. If not, meet us there at the trailhead at 6:00AM.
FREE WATER willl be provided by local tap.

BRING:
PARK RANGER TRAIL ALLIANCE and the CITY OF PHOENIX, NATURAL RESOURCES DIVISION, PARK RANGERS are partnering with GHOSTHEAD PRODUCTIONS for our second TRAIL WORK DAY. We will be removing rock from the treadway, backsloping, creating/fabricating drains, mitigate spur trails and repair steps if needed. NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY.
We will be working on the northeast segment of the Freedom Trail #302 in the Piestewa Peak Preserve. Prepare for up to 1 mile hike to the work site.
Please arrive 15 minutes early for a Safety Briefing, sign Waiver Forms and Brief Introductions.
